Movie review: 'Kick-Ass 2' aims high but falls short

Fox, Harrison Ford and Guillermo del Toro. Here's the trailer: &amp;lt;!--iframe--&amp;gt; Most of today's movie posters seem like bad Photoshop jobs and aren't terribly awe-inspiring. Next to Struzan's detailed and remarkable work, they look 100 times worse. I had the pleasure of interviewing Struzan many years ago, and it was so exciting to hear stories about his relationships with some of my favorite movies. continue This doc is a must-see for fans of Star Wars and Spielberg and doesn't that include just about everyone? Drew: The Man Behind the Poster opens today in New York before expanding to other cities. <br>Source: http://www.usatoday.com/story/popcandy/2013/08/16/drew-struzan/2664217/

Movie review: Despicable Me 2

Andrews http://gilberteth.skyrock.com/3177975671-Kourtney-Kardashian-Scott-Disick-expecting-third-child.html (James Callis). Arriving dramatically midvisit is Capt. East (Ricky Whittle), a soft-porn actor with the hots for another guest (Georgia King), and theres a stableboy/chauffeur (Bret McKenzie) who views this all with a jaded eye. Theyre all actors, so Janes romance with any of them will be fictional until, of course, it isnt. There could have been a wonky, feminist-style Truman Show savviness laid beneath the story or even a creepy Fantasy Island angle, which would have been compelling. <br>Source: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv-movies/austenland-movie-review-article-1.1427842

The sequel's violence feels soft-pedaled compared with the first film, continually shying away from being too graphic and with little of the gleeful revelry that give the first "Kick-Ass" its energy and punch. That internal tension reaching for outrage but hesitantly pulling back culminates in Wadlow's handling of the comic's notorious rape scene. (And the comic's writer Mark Millar recently sparked controversy with comments on his repeated use of rape Kim Kardashian xvideos as a storytelling device.) Wadlow switches the character who gets attacked from Kick-Ass' high school-age girlfriend to the adult female character known as Night Bitch. Wadlow also attempts to diffuse the scene with humor by having Mintz-Plasse's character unable to, er, perform. Transforming a rape scene into a sex joke makes an ugly moment into a tacky one and would seem the definition of not getting it. The entire film feels like something of a cop-out, a soft shrug rather than a hard slap. <br>Source: http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-kick-ass-2-20130815,0,7182428.story

Starring Ashton Kutcher in the title role, the film is essentially an unauthorized take on the infamous tech visionary. Another movie, based on Walter Isaacsonspopular biography Steve Jobs which included the cooperation of Jobs, his family and the company is in development with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin attached to write, but no projected release date for that film has yet been given. Judging by the reviews for Jobs, there still may be plenty of room for another film treatment. As of Friday morning, Jobs is carrying a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 26% meaning about three quarters of the reviewers tabulated have given the flick a Thumbs Down. The RT rating among so-called top critics was even lower at 20%. The movie also didnt fare well with the affable Steve Wozniak, Kim Kardashian eyebrows who was portrayed in the film by Josh Gad of The Book of Mormon fame. In a blog posting on Gizmodo , Wozniak called the acting good and said he was attentive and entertained but not greatly enough to recommend the movie. And he denied the claim that hes criticizing this movie because he is serving as a paid consultant on the Steve Jobs project. <br>Source: http://blogs.marketwatch.com/thetell/2013/08/16/steve-jobs-movie-slammed-by-critics-and-woz/

Steve Jobs movie slammed by critics — and Woz

Not to get too mercenary, but the Minions are up for their own movie, and Despicable Me 2 at times plays like an extended trailer for it. The mood of the film is close to that of a Wallace & Gromit film: idiosyncratic characters get into trouble that forces them to run amok in a way that makes a sort of mad logic if you follow the unhinged plot strands. Gru has gone into the jam and jelly business a itas his post-villain vocation a which comes in handy when an anti-serum is developed to make nutsy creatures sane again and itas shot into their mouths with a condiment squirter. Directors Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud are working with a story that doesnat have the heart of the first one, a vacuum they replace with absurd developments and shameless sight gags. A few of them pop right off the screen: this is one of the few movies to take advantage of its 3D effects, and the animation is first-class. <br>Source: http://www.vancouversun.com/entertainment/movie-guide/Movie+review+Despicable/8607027/story.html

Movie review: 'Kick-Ass 2' aims high but falls short

As this year's cycle of summertime movie-time disaster and destruction winds down, the time seems ripe for a film to ponder just what we want from all those superhero fantasies and exaggerated adventures. "Kick-Ass 2" would like to be that movie, but it's not. Just as the characters in the film are average people running around in homemade costumes calling themselves super, "Kick-Ass 2" is a lesser version of what it appears to be, an uncertain jumble rather than a true exploration of outrage, violence and identity. PHOTOS: 'Kick-Ass 2,' and a Comic-Con presentation Both the original comic and 2010 film "Kick-Ass" reveled in provocations best exemplified not by the bland title character a teenage boy masquerading as a costumed crime fighter but rather the astonishing creation of the foul-mouthed pre-adolescent dervish of pain and punishment known as Hit-Girl. The comic "Kick-Ass 2" is a lean, unpleasant piece of work, with a slight, straightforward tale of blood and revenge, so Jeff Wadlow, in taking over duties as writer-director from Matthew Vaughn, had to expand on more information the story. High schooler Dave Lizewski ( Aaron Kim Kardashian official Taylor-Johnson ) is desperate to get back in action as his alter-ego Kick-Ass, while the now teenage Mindy Macready (Chloe Grace Moretz) is struggling to maintain a promise that she no longer adopt the persona of Hit-Girl. <br>Source: http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-kick-ass-2-20130815,0,7182428.story

The problem is that there was SO much action that it lost the charm, the magic, the playfulness and the confident swagger that made the 2009 movie so Kim Kardashian s boobs great. But as a Trekker, I have bigger issues with "Into Darkness" - the BIGGEST issue being that they simply did NOT need to tell the Khan story again, no matter how much they put a different spin on it. WATCH: Leonard Nimoy Discusses 'Star Trek' Legacy "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" (1982) is a perfect movie. As an action-adventure, it's " Moby Dick" in space by way of "Run Silent, Run Deep." It was a deeply personal revenge story, since Khan had it in for Kirk for 15 years after Kirk banished his people to a hostile planet that caused the death of his beloved wife. So when Kirk and http://marcellewa.skyrock.com/3178972335-Kim-Kardashian-and-Kanye-West-Feuding-Over-Wedding-Plans-Already.html Khan see each other for the first time in 15 years (after the hijacked Starship Reliant's surprise attack on (visit) the Enterprise), all those feelings of rage came to a boiling point. <br>Source: http://omg.yahoo.com/news/star-trek-darkness-really-worst-star-trek-movie-202944717.html

Youve got to have a problem that you want to solve; a wrong that you want to right. I considered Steve Jobs one of the worlds greatest corporate presenters because he always explained the problem that his product would solve. The introduction of iTunes Music Store in 2003 is perhaps the best example of this approach. In one presentation Steve Jobs turned around public opinion, convincing customers that it was in their best interest to pay for something (songs) that they could otherwise get for free at the time. In this video clip you can watch Jobs demonstrate the upsides and downsides of the status quo, followed by his solution, the 99 cent song on the iTunes Music Store. Your audience needs to understand the problem your idea solves. Dont leave them guessing. Explain it clearly. <br>Source: http://www.forbes.com/sites/carminegallo/2013/08/16/10-powerful-quotes-from-the-steve-jobs-movie-and-what-they-teach-us-about-leadership/

Movie review: 'The Butler' gives White House servant's view of times from Eisenhower to Obama

Thats about as far as DM2 goes into what we used to call a narrative arc. After that, its pretty Despicable Me 2 Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5 Starring: Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig Directed by: Pierre Coffin, Chris Renaud Running time: 98 minutes Parental guidance: Comic violence The Despicable Me franchise, if you can call it that, started as the story of a villain trying to be the most evil man in the universe, so bad that he stole the moon. Now, in the second instalment, it has devolved into a madcap piece of silly anarchy. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing a silly anarchy has kept Bugs Bunny going for decades a but you kind of miss the charm and the ingenuity, not to mention the sense. Despicable Me 2 is what happens when you make a good film with a satisfying ending, and then try to follow it up with another one. In the first movie, Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) was a super-villain trying to be even more villainous until he met three adorable orphan girls who softened his heart. Making a sequel is akin to trying to do a second Scrooge movie: where can you go from there? <br>Source: http://www.ottawacitizen.com/entertainment/movie-guide/Movie+review+Despicable/8607027/story.html

He clashes with his father who is a silent witness to Oval Office discussions about the issues roiling the country. "The Butler" follows Cecil and Gloria through family unity, estrangement, tragedy, awakening and rebirth. It also looked like the trademark hair extensions were gone, with Kim rocking shorter locks than usual. After months of sepeculation we asked body language expert Judi James, what the first look tell us about new Kim mum and her rapper boyfriend West? With Judi claiming the couple look happier than ever in their new roles as parents to baby North. "There were some frosty-looking poses from Kim and source Kanye on the build-up to baby North's birth so it's great to see them smiling again and looking physically relaxed together," Judi said. "Although Kanye seems to be relegated to bringing up the rear here he was also looking full of affectionate concern for Kim just prior to walking into the hospital, grinning down at her and seemingly insisting on carrying her huge designer bag." I called the front desk and asked them to call the police because I was so scared, but no one ever came, Polonsky alleged to RadarOnline . While Khloe was screaming outside the door, Lamar was calling people to come and get her. She was out of control." Those are quite the claims from both Richardson and Polansky, but Kardashian has remained uncharacteristically silent throughout this whole ordeal. The typically outspoken star has said nary a thing -- not even on Twitter. Together again: Despite various rumours, Kim and Kanye looked happy as they stepped out together on Wednesday The 32-year-old reality star also displayed a new mother glow as she stepped out make-up free, with her raven hair left loose and tousled. Kim was also seen wearing a pair of fringed boots, which matched Kanye's in everything but colour. The rapper, who has recently returned from Greece, wore black jeans, a grey shirt and navy jacket as he strolled along behind Kim. The couple were joined by another woman, believed to be a nanny, who kept a tight hold of baby Nori in her baby seat. As no pictures of the little girl have been seen, Kim and Kanye opted to cover the seat in a pale blanket in a bid to prevent anyone from sneaking a peek. <br>Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2394373/Kim-Kardashian-pictured-public-Kanye-West-time-birth-daughter-North.html

We think that it is likely to be soon because with some of the cable companies taking a loss on the revenue they would be getting if it weren't for the internet, the cable companies will certainly be looking for a means to adjust their income upward. How better to do that than to raise prices? It may not be exactly fair that cable companies have a monopoly in many, if not all, areas of the country. Your city may only have one company that offers these services in many cases, or at least that was the case, prior to telephone companies such as AT&T, getting into the TV business. Now there are other TV possibilities for us, other than just the same old cable companies, including such as Netflix and Google, we think if the prices are raised, it is likely to run the customer off, not bind them to the cable company. In the attached video is a discussion on the prediction of cable bills rising - "Porter Bibb, managing partner at Mediatech Capital Partners says that in the next five years consumers can expect to pay usage fees for videos, TV and movies watched over the Internet as cable companies try to recover losses from traditional network agreements." <br>Source: http://www.examiner.com/article/tv-cable-bills-predicted-to-rise

kim kardashian download (visit site) NBC might have laid the groundwork for that with an Aug. 5 statement to The Hollywood Reporter noting that the miniseries "has not been written nor has it been ordered to production," adding, "It would be premature to draw any conclusions or make any assumptions about it at this time." PHOTOS: Actors Who've Played Politicians Longtime Clinton friend and dress like kim kardashian producer Harry Thomason (Designing Women), cautioning that he never has discussed the matter with Bill or Hillary Clinton, says he believes the couple never would publicly oppose the projects but will decline to cooperate with either. He thinks the documentary is cause for greater concern to Clinton allies. "With the miniseries, it's an easy position to take: It's a made-up drama," he says. "On the documentary, they will have material that makes it seem factual." (Thomason produced 1992's The Man From Hope, a centerpiece of that year's Democratic convention.) CNN's project is to be directed by Charles Ferguson, whose 2010 film about the financial meltdown, Inside Job, won a documentary feature Oscar. (Gary Friedman / Los Angeles Times / August 7, 2013) Also By Rong-Gong Lin II and Rosanna Xia August 7, 2013, 4:18 p.m. A lawyer for opponents of a controversial Hollywood skyscraper project criticized the developer and city officials for not disclosing important facts about an earthquake fault that may be directly underneath the site. The Millennium Hollywood project has come under increased scrutiny after the City Council approved the project 13 to 0 last month. The head of the California Geological Survey then told The Times the Hollywood faults path might go underneath the site of the towers and said his office would accelerate a block-by-block mapping to trace the faults path. Earthquake fault risk to Hollywood skyscrapers hidden, foes say

A sprawling $200-million commercial and residential development under construction next to the Pantages Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard was approved by Los Angeles city officials without a seismic evaluation, even though it sits next to an active earthquake fault capable of producing a devastating temblor, according to records and interviews. Under California law, developers building in seismic zones mapped by the state are required to study the exact location of all active faults it has mapped. Those studies involve digging into the ground, looking for signs of the fault. But the state has not yet mapped the Hollywood fault zone, leaving enforcement of the law in a gray area. Although the city could require a seismic evaluation, it didnt do so in the case of Blvd6200. Interactive map: Where is the Hollywood fault? By contrast, the city is requiring the developers of a nearby skyscraper development known as Millennium Hollywood to conduct an intense investigation to look for the fault, including digging a trench. <br>Source: http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-development-near-hollywood-fault-allowed-without-seismic-study-20130809,0,3405362.story
